PGCET exam is conducted by the Karnataka examination board. Students who want to have admission in post graduated courses can apply through their official site as per their eligibility.

Examination pattern:
The PGCET exam will be conducted based on the written examination containing objective type questions. The syllabus of the written examination is:
Aptitude include the following: Geometry, (Lines, angles, Triangles, Spheres, Rectangles, Cube, Cone etc), Ratios and Proportion, Percentages, In-equations, Quadratic and linear equations, Algebra, Profit & Loss, Averages, Percentages, Time-Speed-Distance, Work and time, BODMAS, Mensuration, Allegation & Mixtures, Work, Simple Interest & Compound Interest, Set Theory, Probability, Permutations & Combination, Number system: HCF, LCM, Geometric Progression, Arithmetic progression, Arithmetic mean, Geometric mean , Harmonic mean, Median, Mode, and Number Base System.

Data Interpretation & Reasoning: Column graphs, Bar Graphs, Line charts, Pie Chart, Graphs representing Area, Venn diagram, etc is required. 

Other topics: Strong arguments and Weak arguments, Statements and conclusions, Cause and Effect, Identifying Probably true, Probably false, definitely true, definitely false kind of statement, Critical reasoning, Visual reasoning, Assumption-Premise-Conclusion, Symbol Based problems, Coding and decoding , Sequencing , identifying next number in series, Linear arrangements, Matrix arrangements  is also must.

English/Language: Poems,  Verbal Reasoning, Analogies, Antonyms, Jumbled paragraphs with 4 or 5 sentences, Sentence Correction, Foreign language words used in English, Sentence completion, Sentence correction, odd man out, idioms, one word substitution, Different usage of same word etc.

Important dates to remember:
Beginning Date of issuing of the application from: 7/June/2012.
Utmost Date of submission of application form online: 6/July/2012.
Utmost Date for Payment of application Fees: 7July/2012.
Last date of submission of application form: 8th July.2012
Admit card will be made available on their specified site from 20th July/2012.Please download the admit card before the date of 27th July/2012.
Date of examination for Karnataka PGCET exam: 28th July/2012 to 29th July/2012
Result will be declared on: 14th August/2012
