Notification about CAT -2013 Exam is out and the Registration is being done for the same. Those who have applied or about to apply must ensure about the CAT guidelines and conditions for the exam. Read the major points that require for the candidates before applying for the CAT Exam:

Application Cost for the CAT Exam:
For the Unreserved and Other Backward Class, the Registration/Application Money is Rs. 1600 while Rs 800/- for the Physically Disabled, SC(Scheduled Class), ST(Scheduled Tribe) and DA(Differently Abled) applicants.
Those who have secured 50% marks in their Graduation or its comparable CGPA can apply. The college/ Institution from where candidate’s completed Graduation must be UGC recognized. Applicants appearing in Qualifying Exam are also free to apply.
Test Mode and Center:
It is an Online/ Computer Based Test that will conduct in the forty cities present all over the India.
CAT Exam Structure:
The CAT Exam will consist of primarily two sections namely:
LR and VA (Logical Reasoning and Verbal Ability)
DI and QA (Data interpretation and Quantitative Ability)
The online test will have the time duration of 2hrs & 20mints for attempting these two sections. The LR and VA section will consist of 30ques. that needs to attempt in 1hr and 10min. and so as the DI and QA section. The completion of first section will lead to the other section and there is no provision for coming back once the time limit of the first section gets over.
Aspirants will take extra 15minutes before the commencement of exam for reading the complete guidelines and instructions required for taking the exam.
Course Outline for CAT-2013:
VA(Verbal Ability): Reading Comprehension, Paragraph Arrangement, Inference Deduction, Vocabulary, Fill in the blanks and Verbal Reasoning.
DI (Data Interpretation): Bar, Pie and Line Charts type questions, and questions related to Data Sufficiency.
QA (Quantitative Ability): Question based on Geometry, Number System, Time and Money, Distance Speed, Chain Rule, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Mixtures and Alligation, Compound and Simple Interest, Pipes and Cistern etc. , Algebra and Geometrical Sections such as Circles, Triangles, Mensuration etc.
LR (Logical & Analytical Reasoning): Blood Relation, Puzzles, Arguments, Statements and assumptions, Coding and Decoding, Pattern, and Syllogisms etc.
Manner of Selection:
Applying students need to qualify the Common Admission Test that will be the online written objective type paper. The passing of this exam will make candidate to proceed for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview in the various Business Schools and IIMs. Candidate need to apply separately for their preferential colleges.
The seats offered to the candidates will comply the reservation rule as per directed by GOI, in other words; out of total seats 27% for OBC-Non Creamy Persons, 3% for Physically Disabled, 15% for SC and 7½% for ST candidates.
