About University:

The university started functioning with a motive of imparting education in the state at higher secondary level. Presently, the count of Government Pre University colleges is 1202; Aided and Unaided Pre University Colleges are 637 and 1936 respectively.

Almost 10lakhs candidates take admission in Pre University Programme that is mainly done after completing class 10^th standard. In other words, we can say that it is equivalent to Intermediate standard where students can get enroll themselves in Science, Commerce and Humanities streams.
