Subject: List of Candidates (LOC) for Class X for Academic Session – 2013-14 Online
(A separate Notification has been issued for Class XII Examination 2014)
Dear Principal,
The scheme of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) for classes IX and X is to be followed in
all schools affiliated with the Board (Secondary and Senior Secondary) for academic session 2012-14.
Under the CCE, a candidate has to undergo assessments in Scholastic as well as Co-Scholastic Areas.
Salient features of the scheme are:

  •  Each academic year has been divided into two terms :

Term I - April to September (Jan to June for winter closing schools)
Term II - October to March (July to December for winter closing schools)

  •  All the students shall be required to undergo various School based assessments in Co-Scholastic

Areas in Classes IX and X.

  •  All the students shall also be required to undergo following assessments in Scholastic Areas

SA2 The Candidate from different schools affiliated to the
Board will be appearing in SA II as per the following
approved schemes :
Scheme-1 : For those who do not wish to move out of the
CBSE System after Class X
Question Papers and Marking Scheme to be
supplied by the Board and evaluation carried out
by the school.
Scheme-2 : For those who wish to move out of the CBSE
System after Class X i.e. who wish to join
institutions/ schools/ Junior Colleges
affiliated to Boards other than the CBSE.
Question Papers and Marking Scheme to be
prepared by the Board and evaluation carried out
by the Board through External Examiners.

  •  The syllabi for semester assessments viz SA1 and SA2 shall be based on Term-I and Term-

II syllabus respectively for each class.

  •  The syllabus for SA2 in Class X will be based on Term-II syllabus only. Both the schemes

will have same type of Question Papers in terms of design, blue print and difficulty level
as per Board’s Sample Questions to be made available later on.

  • There shall be equivalence between both the schemes.

 At the end of Class X, all candidates (irrespective of the type of scheme) shall be issued
the same ‘Grade Sheet Cum Certificate of Performance’ prepared, printed and signed by
the Board.
 The Board will collect Marks/ Grades from all the schools for classes IX and X for
assessments of all Scholastic as well as Co-Scholastic Areas for which arrangements are
being made.
In order to achieve accuracy and timely receipt of data pertaining to List of Candidates (LOC) for Class X
of your school for the academic session 2013-14, CBSE has extended the facility of online submission of
details of List of Candidates (LOC) for all schools under the jurisdiction of various Regional offices of the
Board. The facility shall be made available from 1st September, 2013.
It may please be noted that ‘As per Examination bye-laws, the subjects offered by the candidate in
Classes IX/X should be the same’. The schools are expected to ensure the correctness of the subjects
offered by the candidates and the subjects being taught in the school. The data uploaded for each
candidate should be accurate in all respects.
Note: It has been observed in the past that there were a few variations between subjects offered by the
candidate and the subjects taught. To ensure accuracy of data, the Subject Code and Subject
Name must be checked carefully for each candidate.
For Example, :
 Subject Offered by the candidate is shown as ‘002’ i.e. Hindi Course A whereas the candidate
is being taught ‘Hindi Course B’. Therefore, correct subject code should be ‘085’
It may also be noted that vide Board’s Circular CBSE/ACAD/AEO(AHA)/2012 No. Acad-27/2012 dated
June 27, 2012, the Board has discontinued the practice of providing Blue Print, Sample Question Papers
and Marking Schemes in classes IX and X w.e.f. Summative Assessment-II of 2012-13. However, sample
Questions will be provided.
For online submission, the link ‘Online List of Candidates (LOC) for Academic Session 2013-14’ may
be clicked in the website www.cbse.nic.in.
For registering you may use your affiliation number as user-ID and password (Same which you used last
year for online registration for IX/ XI/ X and XII).
1. Before Login, please take the print-out of the instructions and procedure given on the website
www.cbse.nic.in and read them carefully before submission of details of candidates for List of
Candidates (LOC).
2. Like previous year, the List of Candidates (LOC) (light green form) shall not be sent by the
Regional Offices to schools for 2013-14 session also.
3. It is mandatory for all schools affiliated with the Board to submit the details of all candidates
who are on their rolls in Class X for the academic session 2013-14 irrespective of Scheme 1 or
Scheme 2 under which candidates are appearing for SA2.
Candidates in Class X appearing for SA2 under Scheme-1 shall pay required fee as per Table 7(a)
and those in SA2 under Scheme-2 shall pay fee as per Table 7(b).
4. Board shall allot Roll Numbers to all Candidates.
5. The Board shall collect Marks/ Grades from all the schools for classes IX and X for assessments of
all Scholastic as well as Co-Scholastic Areas.
For SA2 in Class X under Scheme-1, the Marks/ Grades from the schools shall also be collected.
For SA2 in Class X under Scheme-2, Marks/ Grades would be available with the Board and
would be included in the ‘Grade Sheet cum Certificate of Performance’.
6. Board shall prepare, print, sign and issue ‘Grade Sheet Cum Certificate of Performance’ to all
candidates.

(SGAI) – 2013-14
(f) Rs 5000/- as Sports fee be also added by Independent Schools, if not paid earlier for the session 2013-14.
(*) 15 days grace time in place of 7 days for receipt of Final List of candidates (LOC) will be
allowed to the schools belonging to remote areas viz. Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur,
Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, Lahaul and Spiti District and Pangi sub
division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Island, Lakshadweep
and schools in foreign countries.
In case the dates mentioned above fall on a holiday/ Saturday/ Sunday, next working day shall be
applicable.

  • 8. Demand draft for the requisite Fee (Examination Fee + Late Fee, if any +Migration Fee+ PSA Fee

+Sports Fee) shall be made in favour of the Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education,
CBSE drawn on any Nationalized Bank payable at the place of Regional Office of the Board under
whose jurisdiction the school is located.
School No., School Name and Address, Principal name and phone number should be written on the
back of the Demand Draft.
Final List of Candidates (LOC) with candidate’s signature along with Demand draft and duly filled
and signed Certificate of Principal should reach the following within stipulated schedule given
above (a photocopy of the Final printout with candidate’s signature should be retained by the
School as office copy) :

  •  ‘Director’ for Regional Office, Delhi
  •  ‘Regional Officer’, concerned Regional Office of the Board

9. On-line submission shall be closed after last date and no entry shall be accepted after the last
date.
10. Receipt of final List of Candidates (LOC) shall be acknowledged by the Regional Office only after
the receipt of fee in the shape of Demand Draft as per the schedule given above
11. In the interest of their own candidates, Schools are advised to start submitting details on-line as
per Instructions given on the website www.cbse.nic.in and take necessary steps so that computer
generated details along with fee in the shape of Demand Draft reach the Regional Office before the
last date and to avoid the possibility of dis-connection / inability / failure to log on to the Board’s
website on account of heavy load on internet / website jam.

can be obtained by clicking the link ‘Online List of Candidates (LOC) for Academic Session
2013-14’ in the website www.cbse.nic.in.

Note : The fourth CBSE Student’s Global Aptitude Index (SGAI) will be tentatively held in
November 2013. Those who wish to appear for SGAI may opt for the same along with Online
List of Candidates (LOC) for Academic Session 2013-14 by paying Rs 100/- per candidate.
Like previous year, separate Notification shall not be issued for Registration of SGAI
2013-14.
The details of candidates desirous to appear for SGAI will have to be provided by the
schools by 15th Oct 2013.
If candidate wishes to improve performance in Problem Solving Assessment (PSA) in
Class X may also opt for the same along with Online List of Candidates (LOC) for Academic
Session 2013-14 by paying Rs 100/- per candidate. PSA for such candidates will be
conducted on 18th January, 2014 for summer bound schools along with Class IX candidates.
